The logistics challenge
When ADVA won a project to provide products and support to Telstra, Australia’s leading telecommunications and technology company, they needed to be 100% sure they could meet the demanding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) around support and spare parts. With the volume of equipment involved, they knew they would not be able to handle the logistics themselves and needed a capable, knowledgeable and efficient logistics partner. Koby Bergman, VP of Sales for Asia Pacific explains; “We looked at a range of companies as potential partners and found that IMI were not only clearly the most proficient, but also the best match for our needs cost-wise as well”.
IMI’s logistics support
ADVA Optical Networking engaged IMI to manage the logistics support for ADVA’s supply of products to Telstra; including support centre, stock in 5 locations around Australia for regular and emergency supply, RMA, spare parts, swap out of faulty products and, for some projects, technical offsite activity in IMI’s own labs.
Working with IMI now for over 4 years, and having expanded the partnership from the (still ongoing) Telstra project to a range clients, Koby’s expectations have not only been met, but well and truly exceeded. “I have nothing but good words about IMI”, he says. “They are highly efficient and quite simply the best service providers I have worked with”.
